Proverbs 31

“She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong” (17). The “excellent wife” described in proverbs is a leader who uses her strength, courage, and capacity on behalf of other people. Her husband trusts and depends on her (11-12), and her business skills (16,18) bless her own family as well as her servants. She doesn’t work to impress people or acquire status but instead to provide stability for her household and to bless the needy (20- 21); she adds to the well-being of her community.

“Give her the fruit of her hands” (31). As good stewards of the minds, bodies, and energy the Lord gives us, we have enough left over to bless those around us.
