Galatians 3:1-14
/“And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed” (v8). Paul gave the mixed Jewish/Gentile church a key to understanding the entire Old Testament. God’s plan from the beginning, and the reason for His choice of Abraham and his descendants, was to bless and redeem the “nations” – all the families of the earth. Abraham put his faith in God’s plan before he was circumcised and centuries before the Law was given.
“The righteous will live by faith” (v11). Just like Abraham, our faith isn’t in ourselves, or in the Law. We trust in Jesus Christ, who redeemed us from sin’s curse (v13).
