Job 38-42
/“Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind ...” (38:1). Job had begged God to explain Himself, yet he was unprepared for God to really show up. The Creator of the universe did not condemn Job for his questions nor explain Job’s suffering, but instead asked: “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” (v4). God pointed to the wonders of the world – the stars, snow and hail, sea monsters, lions and hippos – to remind Job of His infinite, wonderful wisdom.
Job replied: “I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you” (42:5). More than explanations, God’s presence in our lives is the answer our heart needs.
