Isaiah 31-34

“O LORD, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble” (33:2). Instead of the chaos of idolatry and the false security of Egypt, Isaiah called on God’s people to reach out for His salvation. Peace would come when they pledged allegiance to Him alone: “He will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge” (33:6). Isaiah longed for the time when God’s Spirit would be poured out abundantly, and “the wilderness becomes a fruitful field” (32:15).

Rather than constant violence, upheaval, and pain, God promises real joy: “My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” (32:17-18).
