Hebrews 4
/“Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience” (v11). The author of Hebrews offers a serious warning and an encouragement at the same time. “Today” the opportunity to trust Jesus “still stands,” yet we see from biblical examples (v12) that people can refuse God’s invitation. Thankfully, “we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin” (v15). Through Jesus, we can “enter God’s rest” (v10).
Forgiven and accepted, we can approach “the throne of grace” and find the help we need to live faithfully in this world (v16).
