Psalm 126

“When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them” (v1-2). The Israelites who returned to their ancestral lands after exile in Babylon experienced the amazing joy of a fulfilled dream. They reassured others who were waiting on the Lord, “those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!” (v5).

“Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb” (v4). God sees our tears and our waiting, and at the right time He will restore life and fruitfulness.
