Ezekiel 34-36
/“Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves!” (34:2). God spoke through Ezekiel to condemn Israel’s “shepherds” – priests, prophets, elders, clan leaders—who failed to care for men and women but instead enriched themselves. “The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed ... the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them” (34:4). God promised to shepherd the people Himself and to demonstrate a different kind of leadership—caring, feeding, rescuing, protecting.
“I will seek the lost ... I will strengthen the weak” (34:16). Our good Shepherd, model of true leadership, uses His strength not to dominate or win, but to lift us up.
