Ezekiel 37-39

“He brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones” (37:1). After the destruction of Jerusalem, the exiles thought Israel’s future was dead; they had been judged for their idolatry and believed “our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off” (37:11). But God promised “I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live” (v5), and a new, unified people would live under the rule of a new David (37:19, 26).

When we were dead in our sins, God made us alive together with Christ, so that He could dwell among us: “I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (37:27).
