Genesis 6-10

“I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals ... —every living creature on earth” (9:8-10). God repeatedly declared that His covenant of promise was with “every living creature” on earth. He made humans to live among other creatures on the “teeming” earth (ch 1), and His redemptive plan included all He had made: “all living creatures” (9:15).

“I have set my rainbow in the clouds...” (9:13). The rainbow is a sign of God’s loving concern for us – not just for our souls, but also our bodies, our world, and all the living things that He has made.
