Psalm 4-6

“Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray” (5:1-2). The psalmist knew that God the King expected justice and righteousness. “With you, evil people are not welcome” (5:4). Yet, trusting in God’s compassion, he prayed: “Do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Have mercy on me, Lord ...” (6:1-2). He knew that the Lord accepts the humble and needy heart and is eager to forgive us.

“But I, by your great love, can come into your house” (5:7). Through God’s great love poured out in Christ, we can confidently enter His presence and receive grace and help.
