Psalm 84
/“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage” (5). “Pilgrimage”, for the psalmist, was the constant journey into the Lord’s presence as our true home (1-2). Even if we are in the “Valley of Baca” (difficulty), with the Lord we can find refreshing and go from “strength to strength” (6-7). The treasures, fame, and pleasures of the world are nothing in comparison to the peace of being in God’s care; as the psalmist say, “better is one day in your courts than thousands elsewhere” (10).
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield ...” (11). When we make our home in the Lord, we find every resource, every protection, and every comfort we need.
