I Peter 4-5
/“The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply ...” (4:7-8). As God’s holy people, Peter urged believers to make good use of their time on earth, because we must give an account to God (4:2-6). We are called to use our gifts whole- heartedly to serve one another (4:10), and even if we encounter suffering and trials, to “continue to do good” (4:19).
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (5:7). When we serve the Lord above all, we don’t have to worry about the outcome. He will keep us “strong, firm, and steadfast” to the end (5:10).
