Ezekiel 14-20

“Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces” (14:3). The Lord revealed to Ezekiel that Israel’s leaders had turned against God and their hearts were committed to evil things. Sadly, Israel, God’s beloved people, had become useless like an old dry vine (ch 15) and wickedly disloyal like an adulterous wife (ch 16). But the Lord also reminded Ezekiel that he did not take pleasure in the death of the wicked, but instead desired their salvation (18:32).

Knowing our failures, God invites us to “get a new heart and a new spirit” (18:31). He wants us to experience abundant life. “Repent and live!” (18:32).
