Psalm 3
/“I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me” (5). The night hours have always been moments of vulnerability for humans; even the apostle Paul said that he struggled with “sleepless nights” (II Corinthians 6:5). Yet in these dark moments when we wrestle with the “tens of thousands” of problems that seem to press against from every side (6), the psalmist said that the Lord sustains us. He hears us, and He comes to defend us and lift up our heads (3).
“I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain” (4). In the night, when we feel alone, we can call out to the Lord and wait for His help and comfort.
