Acts 2

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy ...” (17). The Jewish people had been waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled, and many wondered, would Jesus “restore the kingdom?” (1:6). But the Spirit came to do something bigger than restore a nation’s greatness. People from around the world heard the gospel, and ordinary sons and daughters, young and old, were empowered to prophesy and declare the glorious goodness of God.

“All the believers were together and had everything in common” (2:44). No one is left out. By faith in Jesus and the Spirit’s work, we can join God’s family and take part in his mission.
