John 8
/“If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God” (42). Jesus taught in the Temple about his identity, and those who recognized him as God’s Messiah were set free from their sins (31). However, those who held a false view of God that protected their self-righteousness (“we are Abraham’s descendants”, 33) rejected Jesus. He declared, “I am the light of the world” – the answer for everyone willing to live in the light (12).
“Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life” (12). The grace and truth of Jesus is opposed to the world. When we surrender to him, the way ahead of us is full of light.
