Mark 10-12

Mark 10:17 “As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. ‘Good teacher,’ he asked, ‘What must I do to inherit eternal life?’ ‘Obey the Commandments.’” The man affirmed he had. But knowing the tenacious grip riches had on his life, Jesus told him to sell all and give it away. He wanted eternal life, but wanted his present riches more, and went away sadly. The cost, in his estimate, was too high.

Jesus had already said, “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it (10:15). Eternal life is still available, but the condition of humble trust (faith) has never changed.
