Deuteronomy 31-33
/“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid ... for the Lord your God goes with you” (31:6) Knowing he was about to die; Moses encouraged his successor Joshua and all the people to be “courageous” because God was going with them. In fact, God was going ahead of them into the Promised Land and would deliver them from the hand of their enemies (31:3-5). He would feed them with “honey from the rock” as he did in the wilderness, if they leaned on him and not themselves (32:13).
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you ... Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (31:8). We can face life with cheerful courage because God himself goes with us on the journey.
