Psalm 68-69
/“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves” (68:19-20). God revealed himself to Israel over and over as the God who saves, the God who rescues, and the God who is the “father of the fatherless and defender of widows” (68:5). When we come into “deep waters” and can find no foothold, God is quick to hear our cry (69:1-2). When our hearts are broken or we experience scorn, disgrace, and shame (69:19-20), God comes close to us.
“Answer me Lord, out of the goodness of your love” (69:16). No matter the cause of our troubles, when we cry out, the Lord answers out of his infinite love.
