Psalm 139

“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me … you are familiar with all my ways” (1-3). In a world where individuals seek connection and intimacy but often experience isolation, rejection, and loneliness, the psalmist declares that God knows us completely. He created us in our mother’s womb (13), he pays attention to our daily lives (3), and he sees us when we feel engulfed in shadows (11). His infinite concern for us satisfies our desire to be seen and known.

“Search me O God and know my heart … and lead me in the way everlasting” (23-24). The God who already knows us invites us to voluntarily open our hearts, so that he can fill us.
