“No one was strong enough to subdue him” (4). The man who lived among the tombs was completely crushed and controlled by demonic powers; “no one” could help him. Similarly, the synagogue leader with a sick daughter (23) and the woman who had bled for 12 years (26) had each exhausted human help. There seemed no way out from their situations, until they met Jesus. “When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak” (27).

“If I just touch his clothes ...” (28). We may feel trapped in dead-end situations, conflicts or troubles, but Jesus has power over every force, visible or invisible. His presence changes everything.
