Psalm 37

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand” (23-24). God’s people have no need to be “envious” of the supposed security or prosperity of others (1-2). He is the rock we build our lives on, and he promises to steady us when we stumble. Instead of giving in to the worry and jealousy which lead to wrong decisions (8), we are called to pursue his righteousness first, trusting he knows our needs and desires.

“Trust in the Lord and do good ... Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (3-4).
