Acts 5

“Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life” (20). After religious leaders jailed the apostles, an angel released them and told them to keep preaching about the Messiah. The communication about this “new life” could not be stopped by public authorities (39), nor by people like Ananias and Saphira who tried to manipulate the Church to make themselves look good. The apostles “and the Holy Spirit” were witnesses that Jesus was truly alive (32).

“The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead” (30). 2000 years later, our world is different, but witness about Jesus goes on through us, and everyone who desires can receive new life in his name.
