Psalm 144
/“Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle” (1). Even though we are “mere mortals,” and our lives are like “fleeting shadows” (3-4), the Creator of the universe loves us enough to get involved in our battles. The psalmist was confident enough to ask God to “Part your heavens ... come down ... Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me” (5-7). The God who made us cares deeply about our struggles, burdens, and temptations, and He wants us to cry out to him.
“Blessed is the people whose God is the Lord” (15). Through Christ we can be confident that we belong to the Lord, and He is our Deliverer.
