Psalm 145

“The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does” (145:13). Because we have experienced the Lord’s faithfulness, says the psalmist, we praise him (1-3) and we testify about his goodness to the next generation (4). No one who seeks him is excluded; the Lord is good to “all” (9), and he lifts up “all” who fall down. He is the source of provision for every living thing (15-16), and he cares about our desires, not just our needs (16,19).

“The Lord is near to all who call on him” (18). Society applauds those who seem self-sufficient, but we are God’s creation, and he wants us to depend on him, seek him, and call on him.
