Numbers 28-29

“Make sure that you present to me at the appointed time my food offerings, as an aroma pleasing to me” (28:2). These chapters are a summary of the regular ritual sacrifices and festivals of worship. The various types of sacrifices reflect various themes of worship: confession of sin, celebration, and fellowship, all of which are to be a “pleasing aroma” to the Lord. God delights at being in right and joyful relationship with his people.

Paul in Romans 12 teaches us that our sacrificial obligation today involves our whole selves; we offer our bodies as living sacrifices, “holy and pleasing to God”. He delights in his people as we love and honor him by the way we worship and the way we live.
