Psalm 146-147
/“The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel” (147:2). The psalmist declared a wonderful mystery: God “builds up” his holy city not with princes and successful people, but by gathering exiles and healing the broken-hearted (147:3; 146:7-8). Because our Creator names the stars and has infinite understanding, he does not need weapons or warriors (147:10). His power is sufficient to provide for and to protect his people (147:13-14).
God does not need us to be extraordinary or superhuman. He simply delights in “those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love” (147:11).
