Psalm 19
/“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul” (7). Because the beauty of God’s law might be difficult to grasp, the psalmist related it to the beauty of God’s other revelation – the majestic skies (1-6). The rising and setting sun, the moon and stars proclaim “knowledge” about God’s goodness and glory (2). Contemplating God’s creation gives us confidence that his Word is a source of “joy to the heart”, radiant and trustworthy (7-8). There is “great reward” as we base our life not on what we think, but on his purposes and promises (11).
God’s revelation to us is “more precious than gold” (10). His Word brings truth, comfort, and hope, faithful and life-giving as the daily sunrise.
