Exodus 1-7
/“Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers … has sent me to you” (3:14-15). God told Moses to introduce him to the Israelites both as “I AM” and as the “God of your fathers” (3:14). While Pharoah had no history with the Lord (5:2), the Israelites did: their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had personally encountered Him. Now, in Egypt, the I AM was going to reveal His character and ways to a new generation.
“I will redeem you … I will take you as my own people” (6:6-7). God desires to meet each of us in our brokenness, bondage and struggles, so that we become His people and tell our own story of deliverance.
