Jeremiah 48-52

“In those days ... the people of Israel and the people of Judah together will go in tears to seek the LORD their God. They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces toward it” (50:2-3). Jeremiah prophesied that the rebellion and exile of the Jews would not last forever. When they repented, even though “their captors hold them fast” (50:33), their Redeemer would rescue them. The “Maker of all things” promised to save those seeking him, even from Babylon, the world’s most powerful empire (51:19).

“He made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom” (51:15). When we turn to our Creator in humility, he frees us from our spiritual bondage and slavery.
