Acts 23-24
/“[Felix] sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus. As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid ...” (24:24-25). Neither the Roman government nor the Jewish religious authorities were happy about Paul and the believers who were speaking about Jesus (ch 24). In fact, although Paul was a Pharisee, his fellow Pharisees tried to kill him. Under pressure from all sides, Paul kept his focus on the main thing – faith in Jesus Christ.
“I worship the God of our ancestors as a follower of the Way” (24:14). The Way of Christ offends all the powers of earth because it says there is only one true King, Jesus.
