Exodus 15-17
/“The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little. Everyone had gathered just as much as they needed” (16:18). The manna that appeared in the desert set a pattern for God’s people for all generations. God demonstrated his willingness to provide for them as they walked in obedience, despite the harshness of the environment. Further, they could not hoard the manna (16:20), and they only gathered extra so that they could rest on the Sabbath (16:25).
“Then you will know that I am the Lord your God” (16:12). God has demonstrated his love and commitment to us over and over. He rescues, forgives, and provides, and we respond in courageous obedience.
