Psalms 106-108
/“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story” (107:2). The psalmist declared the importance of telling our story of God’s goodness. When we forget God’s kindness and miracles (106:7), we begin to rely on ourselves. Although the Lord had rescued the Israelites from slavery, “they soon forgot what he had done” (106:13) and had no patience to “wait for his plan to unfold”. Instead, they “gave in to their cravings” (106:13). Yet God had not changed; He always “satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (107:9).
One way we combat the lies of the enemy is by recounting God’s goodness “with songs of joy” (107:22). Because he is faithful, we can resist temptation and trust him more.
