Psalms 113-114
/“Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?” (113:5-6). The psalmist called on God’s people and the whole earth to praise him for what he has done (114:7). The Creator doesn’t judge the way people do or favor the rich and powerful; instead, “he raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes” (113:7-8). He has compassion on us and sends help, making “the childless woman ... a happy mother” (113:9).
The Lord delights to meet our needs. He turns “the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water” (114:8).
